If you’ve been to Hong Kong, you’ll find that it truly lives up to its Concrete Jungle reputation. Or wait, was that New York? Anyway in Hong Kong, you’ll find that there is a semi-clear divide between city concrete and jungle mountains. Whilst I love that anywhere in Hong Kong is just a 10-20 min car ride away from the forest-y mountains, the thing that really bothers me is the lack of parks and greenery within the city itself. When we moved up to Shanghai, one of my favourite new things were all the parks in the city, and each one relatively large and full of trees AND dogs (!!!!), unlike HK where most parks are reserved solely for humans only. Discovering new parks and new hidden chunks of greenery around Shanghai is one of our favourite things to do on the weekends. We only just barely adventured through this giant new park near Jinling Road (RIGHT in the heart of the city) so I bet we’ll be back there again soon to discover more!
