I realise that I’ve never even posted pictures from our wedding (which I really was planning to share with you guys) but here’s what we got up to for our 1 year anniversary! It’s a bit wonky in terms of what day we were deciding to pick to celebrate our anniversary because we have the signing date which is when we did the city hall type wedding registration (so the real legally official date) or the actual day of our wedding celebration which was 5 months after the signing date. In the end we just decided to go with the party day which is 11.22 so 100000x easier to remember.
Jason’s always so good at organizing special things for us like birthdays and anniversaries so this time was no exception. It wasn’t anything so over the top or extravagant but completely cosy and simple. He booked us a surprise dinner at this amazing quaint little French bistro near the Rock Bund called Paris Rouge. The place wasn’t crowded or noisy and the food was really great. We got a prix fixe meal which includes 1 app, 1 main and 1 dessert. Sitting in our little comfy corner booth with many of the waiters speaking French or pronouncing the dishes in that perfect je ne sais quoi accent made us feel like we were back in Paris again and if it wasn’t the accents that got us there, it was the seriously good French bread and lard and butter spread served at the beginning of the meal that made me feel like I was back in one of those little cafes along Rue de Bellechasse.
It was a great night to celebrate our first official year as a married couple (a.k.a. our fast transition into an old couple) but here’s to another 10000 years together 🍾
P.S. In case you were wondering, my new glasses are from Warby Parker and they are the Laurel in Tea Rose Fade.
